The drove road, end to end
Eleven miles of the old cattle route, from our gate to the sea loch. A long day, and the best one here.

The road leaves the estate at the east gate and does not stop being obvious for eleven miles. Cattle were walked down it to the trysts at Falkirk for the better part of two centuries.
Allow six hours and take the tide table. The last mile is along the shore and the crossing at the burn mouth is unpleasant near high water.
There is a bus back from the village at ten past four and another at six. Miss both and it is a long evening. We will come and get you, but we will mention it at breakfast.
